Digital Health Most Wired Survey
The Digital Health Most Wired (DHMW) Survey is an inclusive, evidence-based initiative designed to drive innovation and excellence in healthcare through digital transformation.
Open and free for all to participate, this global survey conducts an annual assessment of the digital health ecosystem, collecting insights grounded in best practices. Its outcomes align with the Quintuple Aim of Health as defined by the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI), emphasizing improved care outcomes, equity, clinician well-being, patient experience, and cost efficiency.
Findings from the DHMW Survey directly inform the Annual Digital Health Trends report and CHIME research, offering a strategic roadmap to enable digitally empowered, outcome-focused, and value-driven care models.
2025 Results Are In
CHIME is thrilled to announce a total of 18 organizations across acute, ambulatory, and long-term care settings earned Level 10 recognition, surpassing rigorous performance standards and setting a new benchmark for digital maturity and leadership.
This year’s survey introduced a modernized scoring framework designed to reflect the realities of today’s rapidly evolving health technology landscape, with expanded evaluations in areas such as AI adoption, virtual care, digital pathology, cybersecurity, climate resilience, and new care delivery models. The new dimensional scoring model ensures equitable recognition across health systems of all sizes, from small rural hospitals to large academic centers, highlighting both foundational excellence and innovation at scale.
These honorees exemplify the future of healthcare, demonstrating how technology can drive resilience, equity, and transformative care delivery.
What's New Going into 2026
The revised DHMW Survey report features an updated format and scoring methodology designed to provide deeper insights into digital health adoption. Segments are now mapped to specific scoring dimensions, allowing for a more nuanced assessment of both strengths and challenges.
Scoring is conducted at the criteria level and then aligned with these dimensions, creating a clear and structured view of performance. This approach forms an actionable framework that organizations can use for strategic planning and prioritization in their digital transformation journeys.
Divided into three core segments—clinical, operational, and emerging technologies—each section is designed to assess different aspects of digital transformation. These segments are explored through targeted question types that delve into governance, processes, evaluation, and research, enabling a multidimensional understanding of progress and opportunities.
- Clinical: Focuses on interoperability, population health, patient engagement, and clinical quality and safety
- Operational: Covers infrastructure, cybersecurity, administration, supply chain, and data analytics
- Emerging Technologies: Highlights innovation and the adoption of cutting-edge digital tools
